About

the name

Vagattela is inspired by the Spanish word bagatela, meaning "something of little value." Reimagined, it reflects the belief that what is often overlooked can hold extraordinary beauty, meaning, and craftsmanship.

brand philosophy

Crochet has long been confined to outdated, casual aesthetics, often overlooked within contemporary fashion. Vagattela reimagines the craft through a modern lens, merging heritage craftsmanship with modern design to challenge convention and bring crochet into the luxury conversation. We believe true luxury lies in living with intention, creating timeless pieces that inspire confidence, deepen connection with yourself and others, and accompany you in becoming the best version of yourself.

Meet the founder

I'm Verónica Muñoz, a 20-year-old Puerto Rican designer and founder of Vagattela. I learned to crochet as a child beside my grandmother, never imagining it would one day shape my life's work. During the pandemic, I rediscovered the craft as a way to reconnect with myself creatively, and what began as a personal outlet soon evolved into creating pieces for friends.

The more I explored fashion, the more I realized crochet was often confined to outdated perceptions. I founded Vagattela to challenge those boundaries, transforming a heritage craft into a contemporary expression of luxury while creating pieces that inspire confidence, intention, and meaningful connection.
